Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pebble, a warm-intro concierge operated by Doppler HQ, Inc. ("Pebble", "we", "us") over WhatsApp and via our website at pebble.exchange. By messaging Pebble on WhatsApp, granting Pebble any permissions, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Pebble is a warm-introduction concierge. You tell Pebble, in your own words on WhatsApp, who you're looking to meet and what you can help other people with. Pebble looks for a possible fit inside its network, asks the other person first, and — only if both sides say yes — introduces you to each other by sharing name, phone number, and email address.
Pebble is currently free to use. We may add paid features in future; if we do, those features will be optional and we will make the price clear before you use them. We will give reasonable notice before charging for anything that is free today.
2. Who can use Pebble
You must be at least 18 years old to use Pebble. By using Pebble, you confirm that you meet this age requirement, that the personal information you share is accurate, and that you are authorised to share it.
Pebble is not intended for use in ways that would breach the laws of any country you are in.
3. Invite-only access
Pebble is currently invite-only. Being introduced to Pebble by an existing user does not create a right of access; we may decline to onboard, or later remove, any account at our discretion, particularly where behaviour would harm other users.
4. Your content and conduct
You are responsible for what you share with Pebble. You agree not to:
- Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your identity, employer, or role.
- Share personal information about a third party you are not authorised to share.
- Use Pebble to send spam, unsolicited commercial content, or content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, or otherwise unlawful.
- Use Pebble to solicit regulated financial, legal, medical, or tax advice from other users as if they were your licensed professional, or rely on anything Pebble or another user says as such advice.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or otherwise interfere with Pebble's normal operation.
- Use Pebble to introduce yourself for the purpose of selling to, recruiting, or fundraising from the other party without disclosing that intent up front.
You grant Pebble a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to store, process, and use the content you share with us for the sole purpose of running the service as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence terminates when you close your account, subject only to the backup rotation window described in the Privacy Policy.
5. How intros work
Every intro is double opt-in. Pebble will not share your name, phone number, or email address with another user until you and that user have both said yes to being introduced. Anonymous descriptions of your ask or offer (for example, "someone looking for a fintech cofounder") may be shared with a potential match to see if they're interested — but never in a way that identifies you.
Once an intro happens, the conversation is between you and the other person. Pebble steps back. We do not moderate, mediate, or verify the accuracy of anything the other side says. Treat every intro with the same judgment you would apply to a friend-of-a-friend introduction in real life.
6. Calendar access
You may optionally grant Pebble access to your Google Calendar so we can check your free/busy times and create the intro meeting on your behalf. Granting calendar access is entirely optional. You can revoke Pebble's access at any time from your Google Account settings, or by asking us at hi@pebble.exchange.
7. No professional advice
Pebble is a networking service. Nothing said by Pebble or through Pebble is professional financial, legal, medical, tax, or investment advice. If you need professional advice, please consult a qualified professional.
8. No guarantee of matches
Pebble may or may not find someone in the network who fits your ask. Even if a match exists, they may decline the intro. We do not guarantee that you will receive any specific number of introductions, or any at all.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Pebble at any time by messaging Pebble on WhatsApp to ask us to close your account, or by emailing hi@pebble.exchange. We will close it as soon as we can.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use puts other users at risk, or if we're required to by law. Where reasonable, we will let you know first.
10. Disclaimers
Pebble is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the service — including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that Pebble will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information provided by other users is accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pebble and its affiliates will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of the service — including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pebble and its affiliates from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of your use of the service in breach of these Terms, or out of your interactions with other Pebble users after an intro.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you via WhatsApp or email. Continued use of Pebble after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country or state of residence.
